School Counseling Office

School Counseling at Farnsworth Aerospace Upper

Licensed School Counselors work to address the academic, career, and social/emotional development of all students.

The mission of the Farnsworth Aerospace Upper's School Counseling Program is to prepare students for a happy and healthy life after high school through academic, social/emotional, and college/career readiness.  This is done through direct and indirect services and a close partnership with students, families, staff, and community members.

What do our school counselors do to achieve Farnsworth Aerospace Upper's School Counseling Program's mission?

  • Deliver SPPS Core Counseling Curriculum - classroom lessons designed to teach academic, career, social/emotional, and transitioning skills.
  • Complete Small Group Counseling - small groups are completed for six to eight weeks for select students based on student data and staff/family referrals.
  • Complete Individual Counseling - individual counseling is completed for many reasons including (but not limited to) academic advising for students in grades 5 and 8, crisis support, and social/emotional support.
  • Serve on Multiple Teams/Committees - including but not limited to the Student Assistance Team (SAT), the Student Attendance Matters Team (SAM), and the Mental Health Team.
  • Consult with parents, teachers, staff, and community members/partners to support student needs.
